Let's not get reductive here. Girls don't ALWAYS fight about boys. Is there any actual evidence that Centro has anything to do with this?
We've established that Shelby and Colleen are two alphas, ambitious athletes with different visions of how their careers, or perhaps how a running career in general should be approached. Both have actually stated at various times that they struggled in their youth to make good groups of friends, likely due to strong driven personalities that were probably deemed "too much" by the more laid back kids around them.
Now, stop, because isn't because they are women and women are difficult. Jordan, Tiger, A-Rod, Phelps, Ronaldo, even Beckham were famous for not always getting on with others.
There are a million reasons why Colleen and Shelby was a friendship that wasn't built to last and unless there is any real tangible first hand accounts of things involving Centro, it seems ridiculous that two 28 year old women careers they are passionate about would create so many problems over a guy.
This.
And for what it's worth, everything I know is that Centro and Quigley can't stand each other (not to mention Quigley having a long term partner).
Nah, if there's beef between Shelbo800 and SteepleSquigs it's cause they're both very similar and different at the same time. Both are type A perfectionist, hard working, and very ambitious, but Shelby is all about the head down, don't make waves, do it all the hard way mentality while Quigley still loves the spotlight and her ambition stretches well beyond the track.
I'd imagine it still grinds Shelbo's gears that Quigley held a massive braiding convention the day before indoor nationals instead of preparing for the race then turns around the next day and wins anyway.
Two alphas in a small pack, with different views of how an alpha should behave.
Colleen was just doing an Instagram live and I said “touch your left ear if you’re in a fight with Shelby”.... not too long later Colleen put her hand on the left side of her face. Couldn’t 100% confirm but it appeared it touched her ear as well. There you have it folks. Case solved.
She also said she would be announcing her new coach soon. Could she be staying with nike?

Seems a little holier than thou comment.
I spend about 20 minutes total on Instagram a week and I noticed that they weren't on each other's instagram too. It jumps right out at you. They are a super supportive group.
keep sharing your opinions and ignore the Negative Nancy's

This.
My roommate ran at American University from [censored because apparently it was a really small team]. Centro JR will bang anything that can breathe. When he lived in the DC area for a while after AU fired his dad, he used to bang 19 year olds from tinder. This was sometime after the Olympics.
So I believe these rumors that he was somehow in the middle of this, even if they're totally baseless.
Met Houlihan's mom at a pool in Iowa one time. She talked mad sh!t about Colleen without me even bringing her up. THIS RIVALRY IS DEEP SEATED
1) I'm surprised they don't follow one another even as a courtesy.
2) Has this always been the case?
3) They don't have to be friends to be in the same training group.
I find it hard to believe the above poster does not know what following someone on Instagram means! haha
I don't even think Colleen is that attractive. She kinda looks like an alien.
I saw her in person too. Her vibes were kinda cheesy.
Shelby seems cooler, but who knows man.

No she’s not staying with Nike - she offhand said in her Instagram live today that she was leaving Nike AND BTC.
Anyways I really like her - great competitor and (of the athletes I follow) she is the most socially engaged and conscious to use her platform for positive good. Was really cool to see her raise $6k for that nonprofit in Phoenix over a couple days.
She is a woke idiot and like all the woke idiots she has no ability to think critically. She jumps on whatever the mob decides is the flavor of the day.

Oh boy, I guess I’m also a woke idiot then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Real cutting stuff there, keep it up
It's a good thing that Colleen is leaving Nike. I think it's a smart move for her. Colleen is really talented at a lot of different things--she has great social engagement, and her color commentary for races is actually very good. She's great at interviewing others, and great at calling races. She can have a future in commentary a la Nastia Liukin in her future.
But to Nike she's just another athlete in the stables.
Imagine what she could do for New Balance, Adidas, Puma literally any other smaller brand? They could make her the face of it and she could really help a brand build. Nike doesn't really benefit from what she brings to the table.
She's leaving because she wants to train with Emma Coburn's group. That group is way hotter and Colleen feels that she needs to surround herself with women as hot as she thinks she is.

Despite the crassness of the above post, the poster is probably right - the first sentence anyway.
Anyone here listen to her podcast on Beer Mile? I enjoyed it. She seems genuine and transparent, admitting she likes the spotlight. She also spoke pretty well about her teammates. It certainly didn't seem as though she was on her way out during the interview. Kind'a surprised to see her depart this soon after the interview.
Shelby is good enough at running that she does not need social media. Same as Centro. Quigley is almost always injured and wants attention, and has a media centric personality and appearance.
That being said, I appreciate Quigley's running related posts, as it promotes the sport and advanced training methods. However, she comes off as fake and much like a TV news anchor or TMZ reporter, which myself and other runners are repulsed by. Quigley is attractive enough to get away with it, but I'm sure it rubs her teammates the wrong way. I doubt she even realizes this nor do I mark it against her character. I chalk it up as ignorance.
Hopefully their (possible?) feud fuels interest in the sport.
A lot of speculation around Centro.... are Shelby and Centro still together? I thought they had broken up but then I also noticed the two of them were on a run together and laughing and joking alot on a BTC instagram story a week or so ago.
FWIW I doubt the drama has anything to do with Centro. I think Shelby didn't like it when Colleen beat her at indoor Nationals and was less than sportsmanlike in her celebration and their friendship started unraveling from there. I also think Colleen's ego couldn't handle Karissa's meteoric rise and the fact that Jerry seemed to view Shelby and Karissa as a cut above the rest of the team, giving them harder workouts, etc.
With that in mind, I think it would be a huge mistake for her to train with Bosshard, who will always put Emma above the rest of the group. Colleen is going to want to be the alpha wherever she goes.
Old news. They haven't followed each other in years. Yall just didn't notice
