Hahaha no way. I used to post on Dyestat too back in 2003-2006. Lots of time spent in the spikes forum, some in the playground, and randomly making threads in one of the regional forums that had no normal traffic.

TAA's post a few above yours shows his split between commons and options
So I remembered what he looked like 10+ years ago when he was posting on Dyestat and still running competitively. I even saw some of his videos in the last few weeks before his identity was revealed, and couldn't recognize him... I guess a combination of weight gain, long hair, and probably fatherhood (looking more tired, etc.) has really changed him. Hope he can enjoy some time off now.

I texted Keith - we should really have a playground reunion.
Holy hell this is bringing back memories. Nice work Wizard, SteveU would be proud.
Memories and playgrounds indeed ... a WSJ sports guy, doing a follow-up story, just interviewed me, LOL.
This "the4:03miler"?

Did the interviewer question your judgment for banning him for repeatedly saying "penis" on every thread?
That summer of 2005 was a good one for Keith and I, happy to hear you're doing well!

Those of you from Dyestat may remember him as Wizard.
Pics or shens
Age 34 and he's a former 4:03 miler who no longer runs because of an injury.
Given the choice between being able to run or having $50 Million, I'll take running.

The guy couldn’t come to letsrun to help us out or what?
I’ve been watching some of his YouTube videos the last couple days, this guy is crazy impressive. His spreadsheets are amazing, it’s not hard to see how he saw the opportunity in GME.

I appreciated the WSJ write up on him. I think a lot of people see situations like this and think, “wow, just overnight, this “average” guy got lucky and got rich.” But the reality is, almost everyone who gets rich (except perhaps lottery winners), has spent years working or preparing in some way to be “ready” in case they get lucky enough to get an opportunity. Usually the preparation they do is far from “average”.
I’m sure there are also a lot of little guys who caught the movement early and bought in some shares at $100 and sold for $350 and made some good returns. Those are more a case of just seeing an opportunity early enough and being able to recognize it for what it is, and having some capital to risk

Copypasta the WSJ for us non-subscribers??
I think Aouita said, "luck is when preparation meets opportunity."
I didn't put two and two together until I came across the WSJ article this morning, but this is utterly delightful. What a legend; takes me back to being 20 years old and cackling at his antics on the playground. Hope all you former playgrounders are doing this well!

Years ago when somebody (Nike?) was offering $1 million to whomever broke the AR in the marathon, Keith Brantley showed the runner's mindset when he noted that he would pay $1 million to break the AR.

Wow, I've always known that investments are profitable, but not that much. I'm working with cryptocurrency myself, so it's believable to me, but I doubt that people who don't trust Bitcoin can have faith in that. I think that people just haven't found a trustworthy website for trading, so I can recommend to use https://bitcoinequaliser.co/ to start profiting.
