I believe we may see Tuohy for XC national championships but I would not count on Starliper. Looks like NC State is running at an indoor meet on Monday in Virginia. Maybe that will give us more insight into who is healthy, etc.

I don't like when people use words or terms that mean something but they try to redefine it. The Milwaukee Brewers were in the minor leagues in the olden days. If somebody unfamiliar with baseball asked how good the team was, you would say that they are a minor league team and they are not in the major league. It was not an insult. It was a statement of fact. Now people use the term to denegrate even when the statement is false.

NC State entries are posted
No Clairmonte, no Tuohy, no Starliper
https://www.flashresults.com/2021_Meets/Indoor/02-01_VirginiaBeachInvite/athleteListWomen.htmTuohy may never make top 5. That is just what happens sometimes.
Never count out the BYU women's team. They are strong and will be contenders. Hard to say if they got enough talent to win but they will be a top team.

They won DMR at Washington last night in 11:04 without Orton.
Arkansas is definitely in the mix too. I would think they're better than NC state and Stanford/

No way not if everyone's healthy on these teams. Arkansas has Taylor ewert and one other Runner. Basically I think tell you it's like the second best runner and I don't think she's a whole lot faster then High School
Stanford has a bunch of girls who are like low 15 minute 5K times. Stanford's top three or four probably the best in the country
NC State has the most depth but it'll depend on who's healthy
Not sure about BYU or New Mexico state. Anyway Arkansas will probably be really strong next year I know they have some good recruits
And NC State might be really strong if some of their recruits improve
But I guess it'll come down to if everyone takes advantage of the ability to return and running again next year as this year didn't count against eligibility. Well correct me if I'm wrong but from what I saw Arkansas I did great this year but I don't think they're actually as strong as their ranking would indicate
Lauren Gregory is running great for Arkansas right now. I'm not sure what to think about Ewert as she just ran 16:44 I think for 5,000 m (and Abby Gray ran 16:26). Perhaps bogged down by training, but these seem slow relative to what they were doing in XC.
No correction needed......right on with your assessment.
What a crazy statement! Arkansas is definitely not even in the hunt for a podium spot let alone better than Stanford or NC State. Arkansas is a none factor this season for a national championship or podium spot......they lost their top four runners from last season. Here is a list of teams in the hunt for podium spots on March 15 in the order I believe they are right now:
1. Stanford
2. NC State
3. Michigan State
4. WASHINGTON
5. Colorado
6. New Mexico
7. NAU
8. BYU
9. Wisconsin
You lose credibility by putting Wisconsin on your list because they didn't even make the meet.
Minnesota should probably be on this list too. 2nd at Big 10
If Megan Hasz gets back with her sister, they have a chance. They would have won the B10 meet by 20 points if she was entirely healthy.
Starliper was dealing with a stress reaction in the fall. I was hoping to see Tuohy run the mile but maybe she is working toward the XC championships.

Why not? They’re 11th in the nation for women with Brogan as a near-lock for all American scoring and returning 3 out of their top 5?
Do you pay attention to anything going on? Wisconsin finished 6th and Brogan finished 7th yesterday in the B10 Championships. It is their only XC meet. Neither the team nor Brogan are going to nationals. Hard to be AA and hard for a team to be 11th when you don't get to compete.
Anyone actually know what kind of injuries Katelyn Tuohy and starliper are dealing with? And what is their timetable for return?
My guess would be that they presented with some sort of chronic injuries and the coach put them on a timetable of building back up, base training, and no competing for a certain amount of time
But she did say possibly they could run at Nationals
But man if Stanford is all healthy they're going to be tough to beat. Dudek looked great over the winter and they have three other girls who are top in the country so. You think most of these teams are really focused on cross-country, will we see some indoor 3K competition of the top runners, or is everybody focusing on training for cross-country?
THis thread is a disaster. Touhy and Starlipper were wonderful HS runners but a lot happens in the transition to D1. Look at established programs with returning upper class runners to be on the podium. Whole different ballgame.
Clearly you don’t follow the sport closely. Suggest you do some reading and track D1 results..fall cross country, transfers, returning studs and early indoor track
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
