Who is The Weekend? I’ve heard of The Weeknd
Just one more reason to boycott the NFL.

Really?? This choice of musician is a reason to boycott the NFL!? Talk about cancel culture. You do know a country starr is singing the National Anthem, don't you? Does that assuage you?

Have you listened to country music in the last 25 years? That's why.

Hahahahaha! Yes, so true. The latest country radio hits are nothing more than Top 40 pop songs with the dance beat removed, the tempo slowed a touch, and with a slide guitar or fiddle solo added to make it "country".
Now in Texas we've got *both* kinds of music, country AND western.

He chose the name The Weeknd because The Weekend was already a band from Ontario, Canada.
Yes. He's that original.
Because we’re not all retarded.
Super Bowl music is chosen to get people who wouldn't watch otherwise to turn in. Country fans already watch football.
Remember “Sweetheart of the Rodeo” by The Byrds? Now that’s what I call country music. Wonder if they’re available.
Went down to the truck stop
My dog ran away
Got drunk
Bought a bass boat
Dropped out of high skool
Skeeter bites

So true. Can't even listen to whatever they try to pass for country anymore. An atrocious mix of wannabe R&B, hip hop, and pop singers.
What about Carrie Underwood? She's darn good!

That's the problem, they repeatedly crap on their fans. Lame rules changes for concussions, kneeling for the anthem, BLM garbage, halftime shows, and more.
If they don't care about their fans, fans will find better ways to spend their time and money.

Yep. Anything out of Nashville is just twangy pop-music. You have to go the “Americana” genre or look to red-dirt country out of Texas or Oklahoma. I.e. Jason Boland, Randy Rogers, etc.

This is a reason to have country; country is pop. Last Country singer was Shania Twain in 2003. The CFL has more country singers than the NFL.
25 years? Since Shania they have had the Who, The Rolling Stones, and Madonna with a hip injury. Put somebody sho hasn't been relevant in 25 years and it is fine. Garth could kill the superbowl. Let Fla GA Line do a verse for the kids.
Nothing against The Weeknd except this thread is against the weeknd. F-n racist hypocrite.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
