One race in July, a 5k out in a small town. Got my old fart age group (but a slower time than I wanted) in my new 60-64 AG! It was fun to race again. :)
Ran a good mile indoors before things got cancelled in Feb. 10mile TT in late Aug went good then two mediocre XC races throughout the fall
I ran a few track meets, a couple 5Ks, and a half marathon
I ran USA XC (60+ 8k) in January, a solo 5k time trial in early October, and a 1 mile road race at the end of November.
Raced a few indoor races in January and February before everything went down, raced one small road race in July that was supposed to be virtual but everyone just showed up at the course and raced it, was happy to do it since that was the closest thing to a real race I’d get for the rest of the year. Never been a time trial guy so haven’t raced since July.
5k, 8k, 50k, all as time trials/virtual races. No formal in-person races.
6 in person races, all trails. One in January before the cancellations started and the others all in Sept and later with rolling socially distanced starts.
No.
Didn't race in 2019 either.
Won't race in 2021.
Just 2, one of Hanson's summer XC race (3mile) and a Virtual 5k Thanksgiving day run, which I did do on Thanksgiving. I run the 3mile part of the virtual 5k every month to see if I'm improving, so kind of a time trial every month. But once again my achilles has flared up and hurt my back, so it will be another slow start to the New Year. Can't seem to stay healthy for more then 6 months at a time . Had a good run for a change in 2020 over 800 miles. In my youth that only took 3 months, but it is better then any previous 10 years. So optimistic for 2021., Fingers crossed?!?!
Got a 10 mile race in in late February just before everything started getting cancelled- squeaked under the one hour mark, which was good, since I had hit 1:00:30 or so in my previous attempt.
Did a solo 8K time trial that was supposed to be a solo 10K. Happy to hit 27:30 for that (including what would be a 5K PR of 17:06 en route) but a little disappointed in lacking the mental fortitude to complete the 10K- probably try to find a friend to do another TT this spring, I think even just one other person there to keep me going would have helped.
400m - 2x
800m - 2x
1k - 1x
mile - 5x
2 mile - 1x
5k - 7x
2 of the 5ks were races pre-covid. everything else solo.
At age 81, I figure I don't have a lot of seasons ahead, so I did seven races, three virtual, including a couple 15ks, Boilermaker and Stockade-athlon, and two real half marathons, Thatcher Park and Litchfield CT Hillacious, and a miscellany of roads. My times averaged about 9 minutes a mile (the snowbound Hairy Gorilla trail race excepted), about the same as during my 70s. Winning my age group would be more thrilling if I had competition.
I ran several time trials including the fastest 800 I have ran since 2016 (and I used no dope or tricked out shoes).

Amazing! LOL! Got to race those "young" 70 year olds. ??
Houston Marathon :)
1x400
2x800
4x1600
1xMile
2x3000m
2x3200m
2x5K (1 Pre Covid)
1x5000m
1 Half Marathon (Pre COVID)
16 total? All were time trials except the two pre covid races. Had a really up and down year, 8 of those time trials were in the spring when Covid hit, didn’t train smart during that time period and didn’t make much progress in fitness. Came back in the fall for another season of time trialing and didn’t have a good race until ending on a big 3K PR. Made things work this year and didn’t give up on the dream...

Yes, those whippersnappers once in a while beat me, but only the youngest ones and one guy from New Zealand who showed up for Stockade-athlon in Schenectady.

That's awesome. Keep it up!
