No. The hilly course (which mimicked the original Tokyo Olympic course) had everything to do with it. The ex-track runners all ran poorly -- Hall, Huddle, Sisson, Hasay -- all DNFs or poor performances. Hasay, being a Nike runner, had the new shoes. Huddle and Sisson, I believe, had their sponsor's equivalent. Hall ran very well on the flat London and Marathon Project courses.
