For some reason I can't read the article on my phone. What's it say?
She’s still graduating early as planned but will enroll at BYU in January. Last spring she said she was going to train in Florida with a coach. Doesn’t really enlighten us on specific injury issues. I know she had to cut track short due to injuries, but I assume she must still be injured or she’d be racing XC now.

She's raising a lot of red flags. Hopefully she can get healthy and make a solid contribution at BYU.
The thing that concerns me is the short stride. It reminds me of Brie Oakley and the other girl that won Footlocker twice. Huge aerobic engines but short stride and lacking speed and peaking in HS. Hopefully Jenna breaks the trend. If Diljeet Taylor can't help her, no one can.
Hope she isn't the next Claudia Lane

Diljeet Taylor is extremely overrated. I'm not saying she isn't a good coach. But she isn't God's gift to coaching either.
She is the best coach in the NCAA. How can she be overrated?

She is NOT the best coach in the NCAA.
There are over 300 XC teams and she has the most successful one. She is the best coach. I hope that she is the highest paid. She could take over as director of track and cross country at nearly any school that she wants.
Please expound on how she’s overrated. Must be frustrating for you that BYU has a 2nd and a 1st the past 2 years in both XC and DMR, not to mention individual National champs with Camp and Wayment.
Guess she’s just getting lucky huh?
You must have something personal or just don’t like her style but the evidence would seem to indicate you’re wrong.

I will preface this by saying her decisions are definitely up to her and her parents. I'm sure she is doing this for her own reasons.
My thoughts, however, when I read this are some sadness for her. It's not like she is leaving high school with no stone left unturned. Sure, she is a talented runner and she has accomplished a lot, but she didn't win a national title and it seems like she could have enjoyed a senior season. I don't see what the incentive could be to rush to college. High school running only happens for a short time, and BYU will be there a year later. It just seems like she is rushing through some good stuff, and to what end?
But I guess there is a plan there. Hopefully she is happy with it.

Apparently, Nick Saban and Coach K are also "extremely overrated" according to that guy.

Are you seriously comparing Taylor to Nick Saban and Coach K?? That is ridiculous. Why don't you wait until she catches up to Patrick Shane before you start comparing her to two of the greats in all of college coaching.
Diljeet Taylor has to compile a long career of success to be appropriately compared to the greats like John McDonnell. But she is off to a very, very promising start, as is Mike Smith.

Douglas Y. Funnie isn't God's gift to LRC either. Just one person's anonymous opinion (or is Douglas Y. Funnie really the person's name??). If so, that would be funnie, I mean funny!

No, I'm not seriously comparing her to them (they're both like 30+ years older than her, so they've had way more time to accumulate championships). I was just being sarcastic to expose the idiocy of the claim that Taylor is "extremely overrated." I didn't think it needed an explanation because the point is pretty obvious, but here we are.
