I do push-up workouts. Don’t have gym access.
I started during the lockdowns and when I started I was very over weight. My first day I did 100 in sets of 10 and that was a struggle. I could not complete an ab exercise either not could I run under 8 for a mile. Gradually I got better
I’m in week 29 and here is what my log looks like:
Mon 1000 push-ups, 7 sets of 4x core 5 miles @ 7:53
Tuesday 1000 decline push-ups, 7 sets core 5 miles at 7:24
Wednesday 4 miles @ 7:40
Thursday: 1450 push-ups 7 sets core 9 sets of 25 lunges and air squats. 5 miles @ 7:43
Friday 600 close grip push-ups 7 sets core 4 miles @ 7:37
Saturday (Today goal) 1000 wide grip 7 sets core 5 miles @tbd
Sunday (goal) 500 slow and squeeze push-ups 7 sets core 4-5 miles
I’ve lost about 30 pounds and look completely different. My chest and arms are significantly bigger and I’ve dropped from a 36 without belt to a 32 with a belt.
So at least for this old guy the push-ups routine has been very effective
