As if science is always accurate.
Anyone here over the age of 40 remembers being taught in school there were 9 planets, with Pluto being the furthest.
So now we’re supposed to believe this ‘Covid related science’ as if it is unquestionable?

What do you think we were just given all of the answers to everything at some point in history and it will never change?
We learn more everyday about scientific discoveries, things change, and we should adapt and continue to grow our understanding of the universe. Decisions are made with the information that is at hand, and can change as we (say it with me) learn more!
How is this hard for you people?

Ironic. So the information changes (which, yes, it does) but we're supposed to blindly follow whatever the latest is without question, knowing that it can and will change, since that's how science works?

This is exactly right. Those of us that question are now pariahs. The "in" thing is to blindly follow and hate Trump, if you do not agree across the board you are now branded racist, selfish, and part of the problem.
George Carlin did a bit where he asked "you know how stupid the average person is...and half the people in the world are stupider than that!" And yet here we are with the majority of the population knee jerk reacting.
It is also quite interesting that Europeans who supposedly got it right with all of their great leaders are right back to increasing numbers and lock downs.

I re-read my comments, don't see where it says blindly follow. If you want to question what the experts are saying, I would tell you to do so b/c it's the right thing to do as long as you make a decision based on some type of critical though. Curiosity and knowledge are great things, but that's not what I'm speaking against.
What I'm advocating against is putting on a tin foil hat, putting on OAN and telling yourself that a global conspiracy is happening that every govt. and hospital is in on to take down Donald Trump, without a shred of evidence.

That's fair. Thanks for the response. Actual conversations could be had if more people felt like this.

You're welcome and thank you to you was well.

Yeah, Hillary is REALLY competent and would have done what? Exactly.
Still sour grapes over 2016, eh? The last 4 years must have really taken a toll on you both physically and obviously, mentally
Sorry wejo, but if he can post political stuff, then anyone including me should be able to respond.
The only thing dangerous about COVID has been the reaction by "leadership" and the buy in by the sheep.

If BLM protests didn't spread covid, and high school XC meets aren't, why would marathons? Outdoor spread is negligible. GTFO
This turned into a covid conspiracy theory thread. Shocking!

Maybe you are, but I’m less than an hour away.
Hobby Joggers and SCIENCE!(tm) go home devastated!!!
I understand putting limits on mass events, but banning all road races is frankly absurd -- it seems to be a case of runners not complaining enough. Mass is allowing actual superspreading sports to continue! I run by organized soccer and basketball events every day -- dozens of people in close proximity, few wearing masks. Youth hockey finally got shut down for 2 weeks after several documented cases of covid spreading on teams, and only because coaches wouldn't cooperate with contact tracing.
But running outside is too dangerous to even consider without a vaccine, sure.

Why even keep it in Boston then? Run it somewhere less congested.
The majority of the Boston marathon isn’t in Boston.

If they're not ready to race in Spring 2021, I doubt they'll race in the Fall. I see no reason things will improve substantially by Fall as compared to the Spring. In my opinion, they should hold a race with accommodations as needed to make things "safe." However, I heard that the state of Massachusetts has banned ALL road races for the time being.
They had the Mayors Cup last weekend.
Teams limited to seven runners, no open runners, no masters teams, spectators discouraged, men's race divided into two sections, 1/4 as many participants as last year. And that was for a relatively small race in a large park, not one with tens of thousands of runners crammed onto buses and a packed race village.

What's the point of postponing it if you're not going to announce a new date. You could easily pick some random fall date now for 2021. How is waiting until December going to help you make that decision. If you're ready to postpone, come up with a new date now imo.
Coordination with towns along the course is likely a large reason that no new date is being announced.

You're a mental midget. Your candidate, HRC would have done what? Like Pelosi encouraging people to go out. Like Biden doing the same. Like HRC who agreed with Pelosi would have done what? You're a liberal liar, own it.
