If you're really a good friend, you should continue thinking of him as a bothersome weakling and tell him that he'll never amount to anything.

It's track.
Your time defines how fast you are.
It's not subjective
When I was in high school we had,a joke on our team that now 20 years later still talks about how good he was. The guy broke 5 in the mile once. He is an assistant coach at our high school and has also convinced himself and our high school coach that my IAAF World athletic profile is for someone else with my same name yet my name is pretty rare. In high school I still ran decent times 9:19 for the 3200 which I did off of 15 miles a week so of course I developed into an actual runner in college. The guy can't understand that he sucked he refers to a sub 40 10k as world class and argued with me about it. I said a sub 40 10k is world class in the race walk. There are a lot of closited idiots who think they are way better then they are let the races sort them out.
Troll 4/10.
But your story is more about your fear that you may be like that guy you made up for the troll.
M is gonna be fast one day I bet. Check back in four years
the good thing about running as opposed to many other sports is the time dosnt lie im sure he knows how good he is relative to other people.
