I don't think it would be wise, or fair, to provide that information.

Well, has anyone at least said "why" no one is releasing any information. It's like the whole team's season is a secret until the day before a meet kind-of-thing, not a good thing for fans, as I'm sure you're aware.
Then, the whole Tuohy/Starliper thing, arguably the top-two recruits in the country, fans eargerly awaiting to see how their college career starts and nothing literally whatsoever has been said about them from the team (that I'm aware of anyway).
There’s a reason for everything. Coaches most likely are wanting the athletes to lay low and just get some good training in without the pressure of racing.
The second Katelyn Tuohy steps foot on a race course flotrack is gonna be pumping out articles and videos like there’s no tomorrow

I am going to push back a little. What would you (or I) do with advance knowledge of who NC State, or any school, was going to have participate in these meets? To the best of my knowledge they are not streamed, and noone can go as a spectator, so what do we miss by not knowing until the day of, or perhaps day before the meet? I am curious as to what is going on, but I also feel pretty good the school is doing what they think is best for the runners.
well.... fasttuohy, if the top basketball male recruit doesnt particpate in the first few basketball games, fans would expect an update... the people, coaches and managers, kill our sport by hiding information and not racing people... and now we are seeing the ramifications of that. Track will be defunded at a lot of schools because we hide people, turn fans away, train for one race a year... fans don't engage, and school are finally saying never mind to track...
so it's cool that no one has heard from the top two recruits at nc state... becasue eventually people who would have cared, wont... it's a great way to build fans and the sport...
The results link has the start list. Apparently NC State's top 5 will not be running. Also no Tuohy or Starliper. UNC list has their top five including Paige Hofstad who skipped the last meet.
(alpha order)
1 Black, Laurel NC State
2 Frazier, Ryen NC State
3 Hendrix, Alyssa NC State
4 LaTour, Sarah NC State
5 Quarzo, Gionna NC State
6 Schulz, Jenna NC State
7 Sefton, Shannon NC State
8 Vess, Anna NC State
9 Walters, Claire NC State
Are Schulz, Hendrix, Quarzo and Walters redshirting or are they competing as true freshmen?

No need to redshirt. This is a free season for everyone. Nobody loses any eligibility.

Absolutely agree.
Claire Walters is not doing as well as I thought she would. Finishing behind Jenna Schulz

Why would you think a FM girl who doesn't have killer track times would do well in college?

She got 4th at NXN and she beat Schulz in the 3000 this winter

Too many miles on those legs at an early age.....FM does mileage that a Jr and Sr would do in college. Schulz will be the better college runner! Quarzo from PA is performing better as a freshman as well.....She is the 6th recruit nobody talks about that should not be forgotten. She is unknown because she was behind Starliper and Parks.....she was 3rd at PA states in CC behind Parks by only 3-6 seconds. She is a Wolfpack sleeper for there future.

The college ranks are littered with runners that peaked in high school
Sorry but I'm not buying the theory that certain school'd are running too many miles. From every accountvI have seen all the top high school runners train to the same degree. Nor to I buy the overuse or burn out theory that somehow running lots of miles in high school sonehow permanently stunts development. We also don't lnow what training NC State is doing, and whether the coaches might be limiting mies, particularly in a non-season.
It is pointless to read anything into early season freshman year results, especially this year where people's lives and training were completely disrupted. We will just have to wait and see.

It's pointless to acknowledge trends that continually repeat themselves you mean?
If you aren't aware that FM trains at a much higher level than most other HSs then you don't pay attention to HS XC.

Ditto on that!!! And all high school runners don’t train the same. If anyone believes that your are VERY naive.
