A store will get one round and then they're gone. This is ridiculous.

Agreed, I’ve been in search of Next% for 3 months now.
I contacted NIke recently, they said that they don't even think they will have stock replenished at all until mid 2021 too. They claim the product is "limited" and not mass produced.
Wouldn't it be productive to just make millions of pairs and sell them all?

I just got the Apha flys recently. There is a lot going on in that shoe. I'm guessing it's a very time consuming shoe to produce. Plus, they are trying to produce it for the entire running world. There are probably too many other athletic shoes that are cheaper and sell in greater volume that keeps the next percent and Alpha fly from mass production.
What size do you wear?
I scored some Air Jordan Golf shoes for 50% off and end of year Nike Golf pants . Running is a bit of a waste of time unless you are a pro.
It's called Artificial scarcity.
• We know Nike likes aggressive business practices (like online sales only)
• Nike has a monopoly on the best marathon shoes
• There are no races so why flood the market
• They need to keep demand for the Alphafly into next year and save development costs on a successor.
• demand is only high precisely because supply is artificially low, so their strategy is working
These business practices only work while they have a monopoly and that is changing fast. Also it erodes trust in company long term. I think a lot of people hate Nike right now. Good shoes, crap company.
Similar to what a trash company like Supreme is doing. Nike is doing just fine. They don't need a mass release. It keeps interest high & allows them to justify the high price tag without us questioning it.
It's because there were lots of news reports about them being magic shoes, so lots of people buy them, even just to wear at the gym or to jog 5 miles a week.

Haha, shoeborgs
Marketing strategy.
Scarce (or rare? I don't know the correct term in English) products tend to be more interesting = human psychology.
People are willing to pay more for rare or products that are hard to find.
Nike will release the same amount as other brands on the long term, but they're putting them drop by drop in the market. imho
Because people like me ( resellers ) buy these Sneakers by the 10’s on release day and resell them on StockX for 175% of the original retail price...and that’s just me being honest.
You can say what you want, if Nike mass-released the product their wouldn’t be an opportunity to resell that product. OR you could just do some work, keep up to date and acknowledge when the next drops are.
BTW... there is ALWAYS Next%’s , 4%’s and Alphaflys available in your size on StockX.
You just need to pay that extra bit more....
Is this really worth the effort for you to make what... like a grand or two max? I also imagine from a cash flow standpoint it is pretty rough given how long I’m sure it takes to actually unload them at that price point on stocks (to your point about there always seeming to be supply). Seems like a pretty bizarre way to spend your time honestly.

If you can get a good bot and score all the exclusive releases for retail (Jordan, Nike, Adidas, any brand) and turn around and pump up the price in the next few days, there are people who will pay and there is money to be made. Not many people can do it full time but for a lot of people it's a side hustle that relies on knowledge of the sneaker market.
I walked into a Nike store and bought the Alphas for 30% off. Didn't seem so hard to find.
Many others have said the same thing about stock in stores. Trick is stores vs online.
They aren't hard to get. They were in stock for a while on the nike app, and then eastbay had a full size run for about 3 hours after they dropped, and then the 4% were on sale on nike's website. Some of the nike outlets also have nike next% and 4%
Air Zoom Tempo has been available through the Nike site for a while now, all sizes (login required though).

Yep. Just ordered mine without any problems.
I got some from cadeaume.com and they were fake. Zoomx foam was rock hard and a US 9 weighed 260g instead of 187g!
You’ve never bought highly rated sneakers before? Just like Retros, Sbs, Lebrons, etc. They all sell out because their resale value is profitable. Runners buy them because they’re going to profit off of them whether they decide to train in them or sell them. It’s that simple.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
