Do you think you could finish this marathon in under 3 hours if you attempted it?

He ran a sort of a test a few days ago. Good pace, low heart rate. I believe he could run sub 3 easily, if he got a few long runs in.
Sub 2:45? I doubt it.
This from someone whose former coach claimed was doing the training of a 2:24 runner. More Jan Stensson madness or manipulation, lying to his runners and making them believe in his stupid numbers.

Current shape is sub 02:35.

Oh God...
You should have stayed with Jan after all.

it is only estimation... hard to say without TTs, long runs and specific marathon workouts with injury free...+first marathon.... better to just run/train further and not to think how it would be...

How have your long runs been? I sometimes have a look at your Strava but I haven't seen all the workouts.
how ridiculous is this? The marathon is 28 feb.
Therefore this weekend has to be the long run relative to expected race pace.
but you havent a clue what your race pace is?
just guess work.
your coach has royally screwed you.
best piece of advice ever;
respect the marathon; dont go in hot, have a daft pace target, blow up and suffer. the best athletes have done it, and the worst. Its an indescribable killer.
I barely survived my first marathon. 30 minutes after, people wanted to call an ambulance for me. If marathoners havent been there personally, they have seem others. Its terrifying and can happen to anyone. absolute ability has nothing to do with it. its relative. Dont run 26 miles 385 yds without knowing what you are doing.
Please.

This is all long runs for one year of my running. Due to several injuries (5 per year) many weeks were without long runs and of course preparation for marathon did not completed... I am not ready to hold 03:40min/km pace all 42.2 km now, it is obviously...

Marathon has been canceled... this month it is planned 10K TT only to evaluate current shape without thinking and bravado, and also evaluate Dancan system results. Then I will begin new training cycle with new training system and new coach.
I jogged 42km (03:40:00) with water only at 25degree and know what kind of beast & nightmare to expect, and I respect this distance very much...

The marathon isn`t such "killer" as you say. I won my very first marathon in Vällingby ( Stockhom) in
2:26 ! No problem after, more than the usual stiff legs of course.
I have pictures of you running it. Number 24. 2:26:36
A new coach you say? If we take a look at McMillan's coaching options you won't get him personally to coach you, just coaching from his 'team' of coworkers?

Generic stuff from his plans I do not interest, as I can build its myself easily... He will coach me personally, but I need guaranties from him or money back...
Absolutely goated response from JS, 100% win rate
If McMillan doesn’t work out “Smoove” on this board is a very good coach. No gimmicky systems, he seems to have his philosophy but caters to the individual.

You are mentally ill if you think JS wins anything on here.

Smoove would be a great choice but I remember him mentioning some time ago that he had his hands full with the number of runners he coaches.
Canefis, you won't be trained by Greg McMillan himself. From his site:
"Personal Online Coaching
$199 / month
mcmillan run team
Work with a dedicated McMillan Running coach who crafts a custom training plan and guides your improvement"
One of his coaches, not the man himself.

Interesting stuff. What kind of guarantees?A sub 2:20 within nine months or money back?
Why didn't you ask JS for these guarantees or money back? With your problematic easily damaged foot no coach can give you guarantee of a special fast result.

Canefis, how do you feel when your former coach behaves like a mentally challenged person and tries to have a dialogue with you pretending to be someone else?
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
