While I never had a positive diagnostic test (impossible to get unless literally dying in March) I did test positive for antibodies in late April once those tests were available.
39y/o male in NYC. With hindsight something was first off on a Monday...a tempo run was harder than it should have been. By Thursday I could barely run 4 miles at about 2 minutes slower than marathon pace and had developed a slight cough. Figured I had a cold, I get one in March every year. Slept most of Friday and until about 12pm Saturday. Woke up feeling ok went for a run and it was a disaster, barely made it home. Breathing to this point was ok.
By Saturday around 7pm I was barely able to get out of bed. Felt like someone was sitting on my chest. Wife had to help me get from our bedroom to living room in our 1-bedroom NYC apartment, I couldn't shower without rest breaks because I got so winded. Between Saturday night and Tuesday night there were multiple times where we both agreed that if my breathing got any worse I'd have to go to the hospital.
Started to feel better Wednesday and while still super tired and would get winded walking around the apartment I was symptom free by that Friday for a total of 12 days of being sick/something not right, of which 3.5 were awful,
If it means anything I've been "better" since late March. Breathing is not close to normal, I am on multiple inhalers and getting continued testing from a pulmonologist, have lost just about all short-term memory and am losing my hair (evidently a little of 25% of people who get sick do).
So PSA to everyone out there. This sh!t is real. Take care of yourself and others!
