This carbon shoe looks interesting - but we don't really know how the plate works yet - i don't think a fully rigid plate would work very well.
At first glance the extreme rocker in the shoe is a bit off putting - i never liked rockered shoes for trail running - they make running descents very uncontrolled.
Now Salomon had a carbon-plated shoe in the XA Alpine - but it was segmented so you had flexibility fore-to-aft but good lateral stability. Too bad they didn't experiment further and add it to an actual light weight racing shoe.
I'm glad North Face is trying to innovate, their shoes were terrible last 2 years. Last good shoe was the Flight RKT. Everything else is so heavy. Flight RKT = zero rock protection and sloppy fit and ride.
