Engels made the Doha final. That is more than anyone in this field aside from Jakob has done.

I know, just one more Norwegian running bust and I'm going to lose it!

I don't want to cause any painful cognitive dissonance in your schizophrenic fantasy mental world, but just two objective facts of reality.
First, there is no published interview online in which the Ingebrigtsen brothers make a claim that they skip a major meet in order to work on a salmon farm.
Secondly, there have been over 60 Kenyan busts in the last 5 years, compared to zero Norwegian busts. You can believe that 'Jakob is just as likely to be doping as Timmy' just as you can believe that 'Father Christmas is real but hides behind Saturn'. But when it comes to objective reality, when 3 of the 5 male Kenyan medalists at London 2017 have already been busted, and two of them were 1500m runners, Timmy's training partner, and that training partner's 'close mentor', then the odds of Timmy being busted in the next year are probably 100 times that of Jakob. Again, don't feel bad or angry. You're free to believe otherwise, nobody apart from me will correct you, and you have the support of lots of people here, including Russian Fancy Bear trolls and shills linked to Spanish managers who dope teenage Ethiopian runners to death for your entertainment. And the mods have your back.

ONE more Norwegian running bust? What you mean? Name one Norwegian runner ever busted?
Lol I didn't bother reading all that drivel after the first lines, once I recognized the style xD
I knew someone has been impersonating one of my favorite posters, Radisson, for years, but I didn't know it was you, Coevett.
Anyway, I was joking. You are just trolling under different handles.
Whatever makes you happy, I guess.
Only four men have ran sub 3:30 outside Monaco in the past 11 years, and Jakob is not of their calibre. None of them had cheater lights either.
Jakob has peaked folks, this was his best year. You can tell by watching him run - too relaxed, too easy. Like the teammate you always hated who started out winning easy on pure "talent," but couldn't handle making an effort when returns diminished and competition got tougher, and then they lost interest and quit.
As well trained as Jakob is, he hasn't got what it takes to outkick Tim or any other quality finisher. You can see him mentally accepting the loss from 100m out, every time. Never tries to dig deeper or find a way. Lacks the toughness. Doesn't want it bad enough. No grit.
You should check out the 1500m final from 2015. Tim was 20 then and got totaly humilated by most of the field. An 18 year old jakob would beat him by 20 meters easily

Tim 11-0 Jakob

If we say he's peaked every year then eventually we will be correct.
But that doesn't hide that we were consistently wrong every year prior.
Something which athletes and fans seem to forget about is that you don't need to be in your all time best shape to win medals, particularly in middle distances.
Jakob could run his lifetime PB this year but develop his kick and tactics to win medals in the future, without ever running under 3:28.5. Does that mean he has 'peaked'? Depends on your definition of the word.
Farah's lifetime PB in the 5k came in 2011 but he won medals until 2019.

You are right: He hasn't the speed. Because, by nature, he is not fast. And he is not worried about it. 1500 m is so complex. The mix of speed and endurfance. He has the endurance and the mental toughness, that is proven again and again. By all means, none of us KNOW whether this is his best season, but PROBABLY not. It is going to be a bit windy tomorrow. So + - 3,30.
Point is Tim was a 3.34 runner at 20 and he regularely lost to nobodys. Either getting older than 20 is and advantage in running or he grow some realy nutritious potatoes in Kenya.

+1
Even though Gjert talks more about 5000-HM for Jakob's future. But 3:28 speed can always come in handy at longer distances.

Tim didn't start training like a pro at the age of 11, did he?
Lots of potato fans on this thread. YMMV would not like that.
But if you want to talk about nutritious potatoes from Kenya, then let us also talk about the Ingebrigtsen brothers. One taller, stronger and faster than the previous.
Maybe it's that nutritious Norwegian salmon after all ;)
What you mean training like a pro? Jakob have increased he's mileage and intenity every year, and i guess tim ran more miles at 11 than Jakob.

Try a little harder next time. You got to throw in some insinuations about doping to really rile us up
Only 4 people sub 3:30 in 11 years is proof that Monaco is short. It is like a parody to the sport. Running a WR in Monaco is like people who run 100 yards across a football field and claim the time as there 100m PB.

You're mentally ill, get help asap.
In XC skiing Norway has had plenty of busts. Johnsrud Sundby, Johaug caught with steroids, the Norwegian XC Association caught giving many top athletes asthma medication without them actually having asthma - with no permits of course, and so on...

It’s certainly very suspicious.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
