Are they in a nursing home and on death's door?
If not, stop worrying about it

I’m really sure how to respond since you have made a bunch of contradictory and unrelated points.
Once again, I never stated that the NE did not have a disproportionate share of deaths. But that share is not static. On June 1, NY/NJ comprised 40% of total deaths and now it is only 26% and declining every week. But many posters seem to be asserting that if we just remove the NE the rest of the US is doing great. That’s simply not true. As I indicated, states like Louisiana and Miss have higher death rates than almost any other country in the world.
Regarding weighting, reporting the data on a per capita/per million basis generally eliminates the need for any additional weighting. For example, reporting GDP per capita allows for comparisons of countries with very different population bases. And because there is so much variation in death rates within the US by region and state it seems more meaningful to make comparisons at the more granular state level. Do you disagree?
Finally, the relationship between density and death rates is not always clear. There also appears to be a strong correlation between socio-economic status (which is correlated with comorbidities by age group) and death rates. There is undoubtedly an interaction effect with density, but how strong? For example, Mississippi does not have any large cities but its death rate is about the same as that of DC.

Two states -- or four percent of the number of states or @ 8% of the nation's population -- is "only" 26% of total deaths.
Not sure you have a grasp of the meaning of the word only

What's your point? How many times do I need to state that NY and NJ have a disproportionate share of deaths? 26% is a lot less than 40%, no? At one point NY alone had around 50% of the deaths.
I'm sorry I've been such a miserable sod.
I hope I can live a better and less bitter life moving forward.
Absolutely. Great post.

As for anyone proposing the supposedly insurmountable effects of high population density: with a population nearly that of NYC, higher population density and an earlier infection history, Hong Kong has a total of 84 deaths. Not a typo, that is 84, not 84K. Without a Cuomo or de Blasio involved, and an intrinsically healthier population (highest meat consumption and longevity in the world), this scamdemic is no worse than a cold or flu.
You've posted zero useful information. Nothing.
Let me know when you've got something.

Twisted.
Cuomo is as slimy as it gets. Read the links in the article as well.
NY nursing home death toll will end up being between 11-13,000 due to malfeasance and administrative euthanasia- these are crimes.

Lawyers defend murderers, rapists, and thieves for the right price.
Roy is now defending China.
Make of that what you will.

Sure. What I make of it, and what any rational person would make of it, is that you are playing childish rhetorical games.
Precious Roy is NOT giving a blanket defense of China (as you want to imply). Rather, he is saying that a particular approach involving a serious lockdown has been proven to be effective - vastly more effective than what we have done here in the US.

Good question.
This. Ivory Tower Liberals are the real criminals here.

What's my point? You note that two states, which represent 4% of the total of 50 states, have 26% of the deaths and describe it as only 26%. You honestly don't see how stupid that is? You have to ask why my point is?

I can do even better. What happens when you take all the dead people out of the equation? In that case, we have ZERO deaths per million!
When you remove all the people who were on death's door both in nursing homes and without prior to Covid who almost certainly would have been dead by now anyway from the "Covid-related" death totals we are pretty much at zero deaths per million.
Good point.

How would we overwhelm the hospitals if people in that 99.99% group survive with ZERO medical intervention?
Isnt that 99.99% number worth anything?
Yes it is. It is true. The US is doing just fine. Go to your local grocery store and see how many people are there, walking around and going about their business. Yes they are wearing masks (more out of social obligation rather than disease prevention), but the entire country is still having BBQs, driving around, getting gas, going to the park, frequenting wal mart.

Oh hey, it's K5! Hi K5. Guess we shouldn't worry about this thing at all, right? We have bigger things to worry about (like the J*ws). Amiright?

So, you are saying that 122,000 deaths outside of the Northeast is "doing just fine."
Got it.
What part of they were 99% on deaths door to begin with don’t you get?
