Lol. For all the people saying protestors need to have a specific platform of changes in mind, I think we should hold this accountable as well.
What laws do you think are necessary? Remember, always imagine your worst enemy in power before suggesting something that curtails individual rights.
I agree. I posted more in another thread, but didn't want to duplicate posts. I have little time to respond, so I will sum it up in a few bullets:
Hold Mainstream Media and Social Media companies accountable, financially.
Mainstream Media: Think about the Sandman lawsuit. Now, you may not agree with it and he may have gotten peanuts, but if these cable news channels know they can realistically be sued for slander/libel, they'll be less likely to report false information or jump to conclusions. Remember, it is not the job of the Press to provide content, it is their job to report facts. All they do today is create content, and that is not good.
Social Media: Hold the platforms accountable for their users. I know the BroJos will hate this, but we have seen firsthand how Social Media creates chaos, bullying, stalking, gas lighting, hysteria, and false narratives on a DAILY basis. We cannot hold each individual accountable, but if we hold Twitter accountable, financially, for what is posted on their platform, they will make changes that will ultimately benefit society. This breakdown is being fueled by Twitter and Facebook. You may love those platforms, but they are being used to bully, threaten, intimidate, and ruin people's lives. It is time for some changes. Go after Jack Dorsey and you'll see change.
