I think if Harris can a better job of courting he progressives than Biden has done so far they have a real shot. While most progressives do not see her as a progressive she has a fairly progressive track record in the senate. Its her experience as an AG that puts people off.
The DNC gave AOC a 60 second prerecorded speaking slot at their conference. (Are they scared she is going to go off script?)
Meanwhile John Kasich, and Bill Clinton (yes foking Bill Clinton!) get full speaking slots.
Still think the Dems care about progressives?
DNC hates the progressive wing of the party. DNC represents the revolving door of government service and private sector profit off government service. They are completely captured by big business. Just look at Jay Carney. Obama's press secretary. Walks out of the White House and into a seven figure job as the PR guy for Amazon. The progressive wing of the party is a direct threat to this patronage system. That is why you saw Klobuchar and Pete drop out and simultaneously endorse Biden. They wanted to put down Bernie's insurgent campaign. Preserving the DNC relationship with big money was more important than selecting the best nominee, which Biden clearly was not.
And DNC knows that the progressive wing of the party will take their lumps and vote for Biden. They do not have to do anything to earn the progressive vote. All this campaign will be about is pandering to the center and never Trumpers.
