Maybe you were training TOO hard, or maybe you have sleep apnea or a shitty diet, or something else. When I was in high school, I got trounced by a lot of my competition in terms of quickness and running fluency, and I was a high strung athlete, feeling that every session needed to be hard, and putting myself down instead of addressing my weak points.
