I'm in the market for new flats for races between 5k and 1/2 marathon as well as tempos and what not. I've been using Saucony Type A's, but I think I need something a little more cushioned and stable. What are people's go-to's these days?

Vaporflys
For those distances I'd say Skechers Speed Elite or ASICS MetaRacer

Agreed! We just recommended a big mid-2020 wrap-up for RoadTrailRun and hit a bunch of these "best of" topics. For me, the MetaRacer is probably the best non-marathon racer right now, with the Hyperion Elite (yes, really) up there. I appreciate the Hype Elite has been panned but all of my best workouts of 2020 has been in it, so...
NB1500 is more cushioned and stable than the A8s from Saucony but they aren't a magical shoe compared to whats on the market...but they're reasonably priced too. not $200 like some of these other racers, which really should not be used for too many workouts unless you are a millionaire.

Quick question Michael regarding the MetaRacer. I have seen some people say to go down half a size in them. I wear a 9.5 in the Hyperion Tempo and they fit perfectly with normal thickness socks and I have a medium width foot.
I train in streak lts. I think you will like the streak 7 or new balance 1400 op.

Get the Saucouny Fastwitch. I have the 7 (neon yellow with orange accents/pipping) and the 8 ? (Blue/dark blue/white). These are (were) my favourite shoes for races (10k/half marathon). But I think my new number 1 is the Pegasus turbo 2. The turbos are not as breathable and not as light but they are far more cushioned AND bouncier while still providing ground feel. Note that I have not raced yet with the turbos and my furthest distance with them is 13km /8miles.
Maybe get both! Happy running!
I've been looking at the Adizero Pro and it really seems like the midsole and outsole combo should last a very long time. I know it's heavier than all the big name shoes but I never had a problem with the weight of the adios and it was not much lighter. Should be the most ideal for training as a carbon plate shoe.

Sorry for the delay. I would tend towards TTS in the MetaRacer. It's a pretty snug upper, and I found the length in my 8.5 to be about right. If you're usually in-between sizes, though, I would go on the smaller side (that's just generally my rule for racing flats anyway, except maybe like the Skechers Speed Elite). I actually think the Hyperion Tempo is a great comparison, fit wise, so I'd go for 9.5 in the ASICS.
I'll give the small caveat that I believe our review pairs were (by nature of the shoe not being out yet) pre-production units, but I haven't heard anything about the sizing changing between then and now!
I believe Sam is going to send me his Adizero Pro pair to test, so hopefully I can give some feedback on these soon. No luck on the Adios Pro lottery (though that's fine - plenty of places to spend money on running shoes these days).
I know the reviewers from Doctors of Running have posted at least a podcast if not a formal review on them, though I haven't watched/read it (trying to maintain my "purity" before I test for myself). They have some pretty fast guys and I think they tend to do a good job on their thoughts.
Takumi Sen!
Nike Streak LT may be too aggresive over 10k for some. NB 1500 V6 looks solid.
