I know that it’s typically important to include easy runs during your week, but I’m under the impression that if when your weekly mileage is still low while you’re building up to higher mileage, you should substitute almost every easy day with a moderate day and maybe don’t take the hard days quite as hard. Supposedly with low weekly mileage, your body doesn’t need to recover as much and the easy days would just get in the way if improvement. Is what I’ve heard just complete bogus, or is this correct? If so, at what point does weekly mileage become high enough that easy days start to become more important?
