What the F is this thread? Of course. Didn’t you run the mile in 6th grade PE as a requirement? I ran 5:55 having never trained, was 3rd fastest in my class, and am not even a very talented runner
Poster, if you raced one mile in 6th grade p.e. with no training in 5:55, if you continued with running, you ended up at least a 4:20 one miler or 1600m guy &/or at least a 9:40 3200m or two mile guy.
Another possibility: there are 385 yard and 350 meter junior high school tracks.
There are two different size American football fields in U.S:
A. High school, college and n.f.l. play on 100 yard football fields, 120 yards with end zones;
B. Pop Warner football fields are 80 yards, field of play with 8 yard end zones for a total of 96 yards.
Poster, if you did not eventually races sub-4:20 mile, measure that 6th grade track.
I probably could've ran pretty close to that on a track in 6th grade (6:20 in XC) but it still has taken me a ton of training and the better part of 8 years to get into the fitness to run 4:20ish.
It's amusing how in so many of these - 'I ran sub 6 without any training', 'I ran a sub 17 5K after sitting on the couch for years at 350 lbs', humble brags, the poster with God given talent is revealed to have a mysterious complete lack of talent for adaptation to training. I guess lying about running a sub 6 minute mile on your first attempt feels easier than lying that you became a successful runner.
