Just sharing something inspiring. Not everyone has to be Olympic level talent to get praise. Oh wait, I’m on LR. Silly me
all you're going to get is negativity for this.
reasons:
1. you didn't provide enough background info for anybody to care about this kid. what's the story? he got faster? everybody here has done that at some point.
2. you posted photos that are likely to generate negative comments. regular-looking kid starts to look like your average high school male runner....again...not an original story on letsrun
3. you used the word "shredded" to describe a ~16 year old ~110 lb distance runner
hope I've been helpful.
Yeah, I shouldn’t have been negative. Anyway, it’s been done before thousands of times and is not impressive to me and likely a lot of this community. I personally only care if it’s faster than me.
That is a tremendous leap, even considering that the first time could have come off of 2 or 3 weeks of training in freshman year, vs the PR time coming off of a 14 or 15 months of dedicated training. It's not unbelievable. But it is rare to see that. The kid really bought in. What he has found will like change the trajectory of his life to an incredible degree.
That's great improvement. He's at a good program, a very competitive league, and he looks very much like he'll continue to improve in leaps and bounds now that he's running seriously. He's come from nowhere to a respectable time in a year.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
