Does anyone think that blacks will start to be treated equally? We have seen police kill or beat black men in the past, why will things change now.

List the incidents over the last 25 years to this thread. Still no change.
90% of black homicides are committed by other blacks.
Blacks are more likely to kill cops than be killed by cops. This is according to FBI data, which also found that 40% of cop killers are black. According to Mac Donald, the police officer is 18.5 times more likely to be killed by a black than a cop killing an unarmed black person.

"Most of the shootings of black suspects by police are done by black police officers, not white ones."

547,948 black violent crimes on whites, vs only 59,778 white violent crimes on blacks.
Single mother households- 5X higher rate in black families, are the biggest factor in criminals & lower income. In any race, no father around makes it 3X more likely the child goes to prison by 30. 1 parent's income is hard to approach 2 parents.
There's your "racism".
As long as the Democratic party exists, no.

Look at the previous responses. Probably not because too many people won't acknowledge that not all people are treated equally.

and most people won't admit that some populations commit more violent crimes
Sadly, on the whole I believe that things won't change. Doesn't matter what party is in charge (each one will blame the other one blindly, and dems and republicans are both flawed). Racism is horribly deeply rooted.
Holy ****

At some point the Black Community needs to accept responsibility for their lack of economic progress. Decades of programs designed to lift them up economically have been wasted. A sub-culture driven by handouts rather than hard work will not be helped by more of the same.

the support is way more onesided this time around. I'm seeing waaaaay fewer #ButALLLLLivesMatter hemming and hawing this time around. Hell even the NFL just admitted they were in the wrong about the anthem.
fun playtime for racist is over.....they gotta go back into hiding now
I haven't seen a single person back Trumps 'gassing the public for a photo' stunt either....i think he had a chance but that toad is toast now. He gonna get DOMINATED at the polls.

At some point the White Community is going to have to take responsibility for 400 years of slavery and oppression.

I'm white. I didn't own a slave. Neither did any of my ancestors as far back as the several generations they can be traced. And they came from Europe, where chattel was nearly non-existent in Catholic Europe in the Middle Ages.
I am reminded that it is often said that great fortunes are often gone by the third generation. We've had many times three generations since the end of slavery in the USA, and almost three generations in the 52 years since the killing of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1968.
Programs to help black folks in the USA seem to have done more harm than good, by shifting the focus away from the current pathologies to those preceding the civil rights movement or even to the slave era. I'm starting to read J.D. Unwin's Sex and Culture and Carle C. Zimmerman's Family & Civilization. Unwin was influenced by Freud and his explanation of what he observed carries no weight with me, but his observations do. He stated that the rise of civilizations is highly correlated with pre-nuptial chastity. And Zimmerman said that civilizations rise because of strong families.
In the early 1960s, the out-of-wedlock birth rate for blacks in the USA was about 20% (and direct abortion was rare), lower than the out-of-wedlock birth rate for whites of about 31% in the USA today (and direct abortion is legal). The out-of-wedlock birth rate for whites in the early 1960s was about 6%. And the out-of-wedlock birth rate for blacks today is over 70% (and direct abortion is legal). I am further reminded that the availability of artificial contraceptives and direct abortion has increased the poverty rate among women and children, according to a paper by Akerlof, Yellen and Katz (all supporters of legal abortion, by the way) in 1996, because they disarmed the "shotgun marriage." That's George Akerlof who shared a Nobel Prize in Economic in 2001 and his wife Janet Yellen who chaired the US Federal Reserve from 2014 to 2018.
I think the weakness of black families today in the USA explains the difficulties of black people much better than racism.

Yeah and why are the black families so weak?
Because all the males are sitting in prison for minor offenses.

LBJ's "War of Hunger" aka Welfare, created a system that disincentivized marriage. An unmarried mom could get more money so the percentage of unwed mothers skyrocketed.
It also led to LBJ's famous quote that can't be repeated in polite society today.
