I haven’t read this whole thread, but has the police protest been mentioned? 57 officers on the emergency response team resigned to support the 2 officers who got laid off.
The two should be charged with assault.
I'm honestly not sure why people think this was assault. It really didnt look like a hard push. I wish he hadn't lost his balance and hurt himself.
But the cops were ordered to clear the square. This guy was refusing, and a cop gave what appeared to me to be pretty much the least violent means available to him, a modest shove with a single arm.
The cops all quit their riot duties because they were sent in under specific orders. Yet a cop was suspended without pay for following those orders.
If you dont like the orders they were following, your complaint lies with the mayor or police chief that gave the orders. You know, the ones who suspended these two cops.
