https://twitter.com/beccabell28/status/1269113046510841857The black people who are legitimately protesting are yelling at this guy because he's trying to escalate the situation. He brought a helmet to a "peaceful" protest. The old guy said he's there "for fun" and the black people yelled at him because there's nothing fun about it. The black guy even said the old man is "looking to get his ass whooped" and "looking to get punched in the face". They are saying the old man is hurting their cause because he's trying to get people to be violent.
#1: That seems like a whole lot of speculation on your part.
#2: cops have been beating the crap out of peaceful protestors so a helmet seems like common sense
#3: 'They are saying the old man is hurting their cause because he's trying to get people to be violent. ' Can you please back up this statement with facts. Maybe they are saying that...i don't have super hearing......maybe you can help me out.
#4: Nothing of this is relevant. Even if every assumption you made...and there are a lot....is true...so what? The video shows what happened. He was not attacking police or starting violence when they violently assaulted him and put him in the hospital. Their attack on him was unjustified and nearly deadly.
#5. you have absolutely no room to change your mind.....it's made up.
Speculation is what FC specializes in.
Comprehension, not so much.

The police work shown in this video is pathetic. The dogs aren't trained properly, the police handlers of the dogs aren't trained properly. The police instigated the entire incident

Cutting funding to police departments will surely enable them to train the dogs and their handlers better, right?

It’s a small movement that just happens to have gained a lot of attention at this time. You know, the media.
I don't vote for a ticket, but generally vote republican 80-90% of the time in any given election. However, I will not vote for Trump, but I also don't consider him a republican. He has taken the party hostage and unfortunately too many potential leaders in the party have chosen to lay prostrate before him rather than lead.
The current circumstances combined with Trump as the current leader of the republican party should be a sure fire way for Democrats to win in November on a multitude of levels. However, it seems they never miss a chance to shoot themselves in the foot by suggesting radical ideas like defunding police departments. From what I understand "defunding" actually means reprioritizing budget items related to public safetey and may not result in reductions in the police force.
The general public isn't going to support dismantling police forces in their communities. I think there is great support for a multitude of serious reforms but extremists suggesting we can "defund" the police are going to have the public moving back in the direction of the GOP no matter how repugnant their current leader might be.

Sure, here's one from a neutral source:
https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/06/08/joni-ernst-calls-on-theresa-greenfield-to-denounce-dangerous-movement-to-defund-police/I hear what you are saying but there won’t be defunding from either Presidential candidate.
https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/08/politics/joe-biden-defund-the-police/index.htmlIt’s a non-story.

Could be a step in the right direction but you'll never get it considering you get nothing else.

Literally on the CNN homepage it says "Defund the police gains momentum across US" and the link takes you here:
https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/08/politics/what-matters-june-8/index.htmlFacts: The president is not in control of local police departments. The Minneapolis mayor is proposing a 12% budget cut of the police department. Neither Trump nor Biden can stop him.
