You are right about the first part, not the second.

I can tell Bekele is not in the leading group without having to read it here as can many of the other posters on this thread.

Except they said he was dropped recently because they "saw him" and I think the was dropped before 8km. I was watching and thinking...I don't see him, but the announcers aren't saying anything so I must be crazy.

Kenny B. isn't racing against those in this race. He's running his own race, measuring out just the right amount of Pure Hate to break the WR and put fear into the hearts of ordinary runners.

Bekele off WR pace

1. Bekele is actually running a more sane pace.

2. The adidas pacers are running too fast for a legit wr attempt.

3. Bekele just isn't in form.

How many of the lead group are pacers?

i can't wait for them to drop and then the remaining dudes blow the f up while KB charges through the wreckage.

Can someone help me understand this logic? You fly from Londton to the UK to commentate the Dubai marathon and somehow you don't even know how to find splits online?

We are 47 minutes into the race and the announcers only now know Bekele has been dropped. Meanwhile, he was dropped by 10km.

NO, Bekel isn't on WR pace. He's on 2:03:52 pace. Which is fast, but he lost a ton of time between 10k and 15km.

The leaders ran 14:36 for 5k from 10k to 15km which is basically WR pace.

Bekele ran that 5k in 14:59 which is 2:06:26 pace. The problem is Bekele will get discouraged if he gets farther and farther back. If he keep running sub-15s, he'll eventually see them coming back and catch them. But if he slows down at all, it's hard to catch up.

I predict the leaders will massive blow up. I imagine if Bekele just runs 14:59 the rest of the race, he might win as he'd probably run like 2:05 .
