unacceptable to have to lap someone in a FINAL
unacceptable to have to lap someone in a FINAL
It truly should be a rule if you are about to be lapped you have to move into lane 2. I’m sure Tsegay was too winded to say anything but surely she wanted to yell at Kelati to move..

Shameer always dies the last 50. But I respect her for giving it her all.
If she learned how to pace herself better, she would run faster times. Going out fast and dying isn't a great idea.
'Ju$t do it' 🙄
Also even worse it would’ve def been sub 14 if she didn’t have to go around someone

To be fair the winning time was 14min even. But wondering if the runner should be more aware and move herself to lane 2 with history on the line.

I don't buy that. 0.2 seconds is nearly 1.5 meters at her speed. No way that passing a runner on the straight costs that much distance.

It blows my mind how the stadium is not full. Is it full for other events? Should it rather have been built as a more intimate stadium with fewer seats?
Actually, they lied to World Athletics to get the World Championships, and said that the new stadium would be built with twice as many seats. If they had actually done that, can you imagine how empty it would look today?

Tsegay shouldn’t have to say anything in that situation. There should be meet officials ensuring lapped runners get out of the way.
What "handicap" do 10.7x 100 runners have?
They better give some shine to Tsegay's WR on this main NBC broadcast.

Absolutely. Once the bell lap starts ringing, runners in the rear need to be paying attention.
It's Jakob time
this is true, she may have just ran a more painful 14.02
Will prakel make it through 2k?

Why was Weini Kelati in the race? Did she have enough Diamond League points? Or the meet director let her in as a wild card?
They misspelled Prakel. Pacer???
i wanna see some angry running from the Ethiopians after their 5k plans got thwarted
Would love to see Fisher dip under 7:25 today!
72F, overcast, not much wind. Couldn’t be much better for a fast 3k.
