You think every race that Nikki is in the announcers should comment that Hiltz isn’t taking testosterone/hormonal drugs?
No, only if they bring up that Nikki is non-binary. More casual watchers really don't know the rules and many of them will assume Nikki is. After all, many female-to-male non-binaries/transgender are. Even in this thread among track nerds, a small minority are confused.
Doing so gives Nikki the credit that she deserves. I can imagine casual TV watchers thinking, "Of course, Nikki won, they is probably male or taking male hormones or...". It leaves a lot of open questions to casual viewers, so give them the straight answer - that Nikki is biologically female and isn't taking hormones that would take her out of the womans' category.

No one will assume Hiltz is taking banned substances or male. The conversation you imagined happens nowhere.

Really, no one? If she makes the Olympics, and I happen to be visiting my non-track fan, 80-something parents and watching with them, they will have no idea what is or isn't banned. That conversation is very likely to happen if Nikki makes an impression in the results and they commentaries start talking about her non-binary-ness. I'd say the US championships, since Nikki won there and would have made more of an impression that way, but my parents are 100x more likely to be watching the Olympics as casual watchers.

Those 80-something people could be genuinely confused. But I bet most people on this board are not. They are just pretending to be confused.
Sport is about biology not gender, just we have been confused over gender as we equate a gender to biology being the same.
Casper cases shows this as a prime example. There are a hundred genders yet only to competitive biology’s, unless you want a classification like para sports to be gender specific it’s status quo of female or xx and they everyone else.

We’ve heard this all before. No misunderstandings. We just don’t believe it.

🤦♂️If you go back to the last page, the first thing I said was that most people on this board wouldn't be confused, so I wasn't talking about us (though at least one in this thread seemed to be confused). But the casual viewer watching on NBC would likely have some degree of confusion, so the TV commentators should preemptively clarify things if they feel they need to bring up the non-binary thing with Nikki. That would give Nikki the credit she deserves to those who are confused.
We on this board already know there are different rules in this sport in this country, with biological running in some states at the high school level. Why would the casual viewer know all the different rules at different levels and geographical locations of the sport?

Incorrect. I am an avid track fan and left learning with more than one college degree. I saw a tweet from hiltz saying her win was a win for trans people. I didn’t realize she was trans so I immediately came here to try to understand what’s up. My immediate assumption was that she was MtoF and had an advantage. so yes. That conversation happens.
There are hundreds of threads here that go on and on with accusations of great female runners doping. Hiltz is not female but competes in the female category and he/she made a 30 second jump after age 18. What American could be more suspicious? You are being completely disingenuous.

This is actually the best picture out there. It's they and Cranny on theys twitter post. The other runners face in the background is just caught at the wrong moment.
American Record 🇺🇸 I will never forget this moment 🙏
In the same year the US has passed a record number of laws against the LGBTQ+ & trans community, a mile record was broken, by a very out, very proud, trans person.
Nikki is trans, you just don't know what the word means. A "transgender" is a person whose gender identity is not associated with the sex they were given at birth. A male that associates as female, a female that associates as male or a female that associates as neither male nor female (non-binary or gender fluid) is a transgendered.
You 100% are not very bright and should learn a few more words.
I can't use profane language on this website to reply to your comment on me. I have been following Hiltz and rooting for her since she was in High School. Whatever she wants to call herself is fine with me, however she is a Woman or else she would not have been in that race in Monaco yesterday.
Hiltz competes in women's races, and (as far as I know) is not physically transitioning to male via hormones or surgery. I can only conclude they are a biological woman, competing as a woman. I see no conflict between this, and indentifying as non-binary, and using they/them pronouns.
The best way to find out facts about transgender or non-binary people, is to ask them. Each person has the right to identify as they see fit. Furthermore, it's important to understand that these identifications arise from the heart, mind and personal feelings of each person.
The idea that there exists recruitment or "grooming" of trans, non-binary or LGBTQ people is false. This idea is promoted by cynical politicians and media people who have an agenda to divide people, and divert attention from issues of substance, for personal or political gain. These ideas are also taken up by sincere people who lack critical thinking skills, who have been manipulated by said cynical politicians and media talking heads.
Anyhow, great run Nikki and good luck at Worlds.
A person might be able to identify as they see fit, but don't demand and expect me to play along with the delusions and change the way I speak English to accommodate these feelings.
