The big actors that can stand against Jakob this year are Lamecha Girma and Katir.
We see later more development on this.

Someone should set up a 3mile and see if he could go sub-12.

They're great runners for sure. But, honestly, I don't think anyone else can do what Jakob just did.
his first 1600m was in 3:58.9
official 3k split was 7:23.8
amazing run!

Pretty sure the split is official looking at how many people had the same time on the thread and how it popped up on the broadcast. Also looked back and saw someone say his first 4 laps were 4:01 but that might include the extra 18m back from the start. If Jakob didn't go double sub 4 I have to admit it would take a little bit of shine off the record, not a lot because he would have closed in 3:53 (just Alan Webb's high school PB, nbd) but it'd be a little less cool.
Don’t understand this personally. 4:00 is ultimately arbitrary and it would be far MORE impressive if he hadn’t run back-to-back sub-4, thus closing with a ridiculous split.
…Actually just looked at the race analysis. 3:58.9 (rounded up) at 1600, so he probably did run like 4:00.10/3:54.00.
My son pointed out Jakob did no falling at finish line, no fainting, total boss
Jakob is saying that Bislett is a bad arena for fast times, so no matter how fast he runs there he knows he'll run faster somewhere else.
Sounds like he's 'just' running for the win next week.

Seems like Girma is just sticking with the sc when it counts.

Damn, i still had Mu as the 800m favorite but Imma hop on the Keely bandwagon now
Haven't seen Vash Cunninghum jump in a while. Announcer mentioned a surgery, I was unaware. Glad to see her clear that 1.97 jump

Ha, Girma might break 7:45 at this rate
Should Mu be concerned? Yes, is the answer!
