No one said that, I don't think you know what words mean.
Rojo did:
"What a disaster of a race. And she really had no excuses. She is a 1:55 woman. She just ran 1:58. And she runs 2:01.71? Yes she used a little extra energy early on between 300 and 400 but not 6 seconds worth."
Do you know what words mean?
Rojo is not very bright lol. I'm sure he meant "She is the 3rd fastest US woman in history, how did she not make it out of the rounds accounting for expending energy early?
This has to be so disappointing for her camp. Is she just too cooked post-injuries?
Her fitness level is just not good.
the worst part is this really isn't a disappointment nor surprise. she's been finishing near the back of the pack since becoming a pro. the only bright spot was outleaning Courtney Wayment so she didn't finish dead last.
Someone should start a separate thread about this. A recent Cole Hocker thread turned into a debate regarding whether or not his 3:45.xx makes him a 3:45 man.
What are you on about “semantically”? Pure idiocy. She ran 1:55; therefore, she is a 1:55 runner. That speaks to both her experience and talent. Nobody was saying she was going to run anywhere near 1:55 today. What we are saying is that, in a championship, a runner of her caliber (1:55.8) running a weak non-qual 2:01.71 for 2nd in her heat, is massively disappointing
That happens with runners of both sexes all the time.
For example, Cooper Lutkenhaus ran 1:42 in the US Trials, then 1:47 in the World Champship heats to not qualify.
So what. No big deal. No one is perfect all the time.
I know she loves the 8, but after XC I wonder if shes not suited to longer distances
Problem is if she moves to 1500, she will need to deal with Hiltz, St. Pierre, Johnson, Mackay, et al. In the 800m she basically has Wiley. Much better chance to make teams in the 800 for Hurta.
Basically just has Wiley but she can’t make it out of the prelims at USAs…

Feed chopping up and looking like garbage just in tome for the 3000. Unbelievable
They had to cut the broadcast budget to cover Max Siegel's expenses. He doesn't watch the sport so makes no difference to him whether coverage is any good.

I am not saying she owes anyone anything, but it would be helpful if she gave a quick status update occasionally like other runners do so we would know what to expect. Every time she lines up I am so hopeful that things are coming together for her.
It doesn’t need to be long or in depth. Just “still working through injury” or “still building back fitness” or “going pro is not as great as I’d hoped and I’m struggling to adjust”. Anything is better than fans trying to speculate as to what has happened.
