Jakob is the better runner for now but he's had to work for it. The Goose has bags of 1,500m potential with that stride of his. He just needs that winners' mentality like Jakob and El G. Don't settle for 2nd best and the sky is the limit.

Conversion has NOTHING to do with whether you had a pacer or not. And the mile to 1500 conversion is the most confirmed in the sport.

Jakob didn't have a guy ahead of him running 3:26.9 like a metronome. He had normal pacing. In fact, he didn't even get the draft for most of the race because he ran several meters back.
I really thought that Guerooj record would always stands. It's gonna be kind of sad to see it go. Never thought I would ever see an American under 3:46, never mind almost beating the World Record.

To be fair Ngeny and Lagat had also shown this. Lagat's best 1500 time by over a second was in Brussels where he just sat on El Guerrouj. For Ngeny, more than a second in 1500 equivalents from Rome when he had a very similar ride to Nuguse.

Useless question. There is no potential at question here. He is a 3:43 miler. That is his ability level.

Tbh I really wish he hadn't. He looked very relaxed dominating 5th ave in 3:47, I would really have liked to see him in the mile today. I have no doubt he would have lost to Jakob and Nuguse but I think he might have had a 3:44-3:45 British record in him. He's certainly clear of the rest of the field.
