Saw Cam Levins today on his shake out run, looks good. I predict Top 20 for him tomorrow.
On a side note; SPAIN had selected 6 male and 6 female athletes for the race, and only yesterday they realised that only 5 runners from each country can start in each male and female race. 2 runners have been sent home without running.
I'm intrigued by the pace they want to set at the start. Kenyans might blast the first 5k in 13:50 or so. It will be insane nonetheless.

Wanders will stick with the leaders as long as possible, he will run a memorable race for sure.
If he does this, he'll probably end up 12th or so. Should he run a bit conservatively he might get a 7-8th place. However, due to the forecasted winds he'll find some shelter in the leading group. Many will go out at a suicidal pace for them fearing the wind...

Dumb post. I remember coaching a guy with a good kick at Cornell. HE said to me, "If I have a great kick, why would I ever make a move in race? It's more energy efficent to just gradually respond to others."
You may not like it but it's smart. Modern racing is boring. People like Farah have shown there is zero need to go with a HUGE break in the middle of the 10k. Just gradually cover it. Same thing in the marathon. Half these kenyans are throwing in a 4:30 only to slow back down to 5:00 - it's way better to just run two 4:45s and catch back up.

So this is Letsruns official position? Everyone training in Kenya is on drugs? And you wonder why tinhats ride roughshod all over this site. As for Kenyans going to the US "to get good", thanks for the laugh. Good luck to team USA/Kenya B, but I'll be cheering for Julien 'Wunderkind' Wanders over them. I think moving to Kenya will prove more beneficial than moving to America.
