At least the side story was split screen and they continued to show the race. Good coverage so far.

The irregular pacing 14:20 and 14:40 for the first and second 5K is not good for a world record attempt and I doubt they will break 2:04 today. It is the kind of pacing likely to throw off someone like Bekele who has had injuries.
