I just don't understand Michaela Rose. all the talent in the world but she's always in a fog.
I don't know who coaches her/advises her on how to run her races but this is just not working. She looks absolutely clueless out there every time and it's the same strategy (run the fastest opening 100m off the line, lead out, then crumble in the final 200) every time.
It's like the training and the physiological skill set don't match with how she's being told to run these races. She does have talent - the harnessing of it is operating at about a 2/10 right now.
She ran 32.65 for the final 200m today - 17.13 final 100m and that's in a 2.02 paced race. Come on.

Actually, when you run 1:55 in a race, that makes you a 1:55 runner.
Sure, it does make her a 1:55 runner semantically. However Rojo (and you?) are acting like her expected time is now 1:55 in all races going forward because she ran it once. That's not how it works.
I HATE Peacock coverage with a passion. Massive commercial break during distance events every time, often missing the breaking move. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I prefer the sites like Flotrak and Runnerspace that show the whole race with no commercials. I bit the bullet and paid for Flotrak to watch the Diamond League, and have gotten to see a lot if other races with that subscription as well. I think it was 100% worth it.
You know you can watch the Diamond League for free with VPN, right?

No we're not. Nobody is saying that.
But we expect someone who finished 5th in the World Championship final five months ago and ran 1:58 two weeks ago to make the US indoor final.

Its baffling how she continues to lead every single race when this tactic has worked for her exactly zero times on the pro circuit (and screwed her at ncaa finals last year). I really like her, and aside from the god thing I think shes cool and has a gritty attitude. But wow it is so hard to watch her use the worst tactic over and over again

Rojo said that, actually:
"What a disaster of a race. And she really had no excuses. She is a 1:55 woman. She just ran 1:58. And she runs 2:01.71? Yes she used a little extra energy early on between 300 and 400 but not 6 seconds worth."
201 - 6 = 155, so Rojo apparently expects her to run 1:55 every race.

What are you on about “semantically”? Pure idiocy. She ran 1:55; therefore, she is a 1:55 runner. That speaks to both her experience and talent. Nobody was saying she was going to run anywhere near 1:55 today. What we are saying is that, in a championship, a runner of her caliber (1:55.8) running a weak non-qual 2:01.71 for 2nd in her heat, is massively disappointing

that tactic of going out hard and burying the field was effective in college but against pros, they'll reel you in. she needs to reinvent how she maps out her races.

No one said that, I don't think you know what words mean.
