Interesting. I never thought about somebody like Lia Thomas competing as female while claiming to be male. I have a feeling that his/her support would disappear.

What an amazing race. I didn't see the posted times on the broadcast but I guess every runner set a personal best as well as some national records and, of course, a world's record. I don't know when we're ever going to see that again. Congrats to Nicki. Yes, yes, the great and oh-so-important pronoun debate, but maybe, just for the moment, we can give that a rest and enjoy a wonderful achievement by all the runners.

Nikki is trans, you just don't know what the word means. A "transgender" is a person whose gender identity is not associated with the sex they were given at birth. A male that associates as female, a female that associates as male or a female that associates as neither male nor female (non-binary or gender fluid) is a transgendered.

You 100% are not very bright and should learn a few more words.

The pronouns do not belong to Nikki. They actually belong to the person talking or writing as that person is describing the race.

In a personal conversation with someone, I do not have a problem referring to them in what ever way makes them more comfortable.

I'm presuming that Hiltz accepts that Hiltz's biological sex is female. I would then expect that Hiltz is delighted to be the fastest American biological female.

Gender is a construct and refers at least in part to how one identifies. As far as I understand Hiltz is fluid in this respect, identifying as one or other gender at different points in time.

One can argue whether a biological female identifying as a male is a delusion or not, but there is no paradox as regards to such a person contesting a race for biological females, but feeling at that moment like a male.

It's not complicated - at least in this case: one competes in the division to which you genetically/biologically belong, irrespective of how one feels or identifies at that time (for example a genetic female who feels like a guy at that moment). As far as the competition is concerned it's totally irrelevant what the competitors are identifying as.

Here a biological woman took place in a biological women's contest and set a regional record. Whether that person was identifying as a man, woman or thoroughbred racehorse at the time is irrelevant.

*I do realize where it gets more complicated is for the few unfortunate individuals whose biological sex is more ambiguous.

Hiltz is non binary so they are not a woman. Why are you not respecting their sacred lived experience?
