Last year he never got to run a 1500 time trial paced race when in the peak of the season. Monaco 1500m turned out to give him perfect conditions when his form is peaking. During his 1500m in Oslo easlier this season he was the front runner most of the race.

So you’re discrediting his 3:31? A 3:36 guy isn’t very impressive.

Hicham’s slow yearly improvement is much less suspicious to me, yes. After many consistent years, you’d expect a world-class racer.

He’s 17? You don’t just automically become great from a couple years of training. It’s he consistent buildup over years that makes you good. I’m not saying anyone is or isn’t doping, but simply looking at PRs year to year isn’t a great indicator of doping one way or the other.

I didnt see any championship race where he got crushed. I only saw one recent one where he got pipped at the line. That was only because he was saving himself for the 5000. The winner of that race is a 3:35 runner so Jakob is in a whole other league at this point. I think Jakob cared about this time a lot more. He will be incredible next year.

The fact that you think he’s clean when he’s running this fast at age 17 is astounding. His brother was listed on the fancy bears leak as likely doping. Not to mention Norway isn’t exactly the pinnacle of clean sport(look at their skiers). Jakob is doped up just like any other “junior” (unsure of how many of those ahead of him on the all time list were actually age cheats) who runs that fast.

You also don’t suddenly become good at the tail end of puberty with no change in coach or partners.

Not sure why you pointed out the importance of consistent buildup. I said the same thing in the post you quoted. Please try to read more carefully.

PR progressions are obviously not enough to start making accusations. But...

Pretty startlingly similar to Jakob.

Well, Henrik made it onto the likely doping list, albeit ranked as less suspicious than Kiprop (who was less suspicious than Rupp who was less suspicious than Jager).

So while that is not enough proof to ban them, they are "highly unlikely" to be clean.

First off, Kiprop is not less suspicious than Rupp or Jager. He is a confirmed doper. Second, Henrik is not Jakob. In any case, it has already been stated that Henrik's "suspicious" values came from increased hematocrit than normal and that was after his altitude training. Uh, it's normal that happens to sea level origin runners. That conspiracy theory has already been debunked. The brothers are certainly less suspicious than any of the other top 20 runners.
