I don't think that's what this is about at all. That remark of Mo's was a dumb thing to say, but he went on to say it again. The media quoted it a couple of times, and the thread started ... Then the line and thread took on a life of its own .... Kinda like the "Where are all these Kenyans coming from?" thread.

I imagine if Usain Bolt or MJ had said it, people would've started mocking that as well.

Somehow I just can't imagine David Rudisha saying something like that.
