You have to be at DTW 2h prior to departure. Lets assume it takes them another 1h to get to the airport. Once in Nairobi, lets add another 1h for customs/immigration and then it's a 5h drive to Iten.

Sum = 28h. That is the best case.

Ryan Hall had a tweet about 30+h, which is believable, considering he was flying from the west coast.

don't see why you think it is so unbelieveable that desi could dope - she is a professional athlete - it is her job to be the best at running that she can - her ability to make money depends on it - seems pretty obvious that she would do everything necessary to succeed - same way most treat their careers.

The whole Desi thing is totally blown out of proportion.

She is a 1:10 HM and 2:26 M runner. Her 10k PR is also pretty much in line with that.

Just because she can run a downhill Marathon with a hurricane in her back in 2:22 doesn't make her world class.

There is a reason she trains with Brooks Hanson and Alberto or Jerry are not signing her. She lacks the talent of Goucher or Flanagan.

She sure was lucky to get a chance to run with that huge tailwind on that 2:22 day. Too bad Goucher didn't run that day. Oh wait, she did run that day and was 3 minutes back. Oh that's right she had just had her baby the year before. I bet if she had another year she would of beat Desiree. Oh wait, she did have another year before the Oly Trials and Desiree beat her again. Damn.

Alberto and Jerry do not sign athletes. Hanson's have a much better track record with coaching the marathon than either Jerry or Alberto.
