Why don't you take another look at the post he directly quoted by Runn? Go on...we will all wait.

Their explanations are always tailored to make Nike look great at every step of the way and FL to look like a bunch of out of touch idiots. In their world, XC is specifically a team event and FL's concept of individuals is stupid, but it's perfectly acceptable for Nike to have individuals running in their NXN races. You can't make this stuff up.

I guess we're splitting hairs, but Runn doesn't say that XC is ONLY a team sport, just that it is a team sport at every level. It's true. XC is a team and individual sport. High schools, NCAA, Worlds all recognize an individual and team champion.
