Alexa Efraimson will win NXN 2013

Is she a good mudder? I've heard Nike's horse track will be sloppy once again.

She may very well win, but I could run that workout and I'm a 17 mid guy right now. That's a lot of rest.

Definitely not the first time we heard it. Some were saying it after her 4:38. Some after her win at Dellinger.

I'd go 50/50 on it. Eprhaimson's biggest advantage is having true competition this year. Baxter is a great runner. As much as I'm a fan of Ephraimson, I'd like to see Baxter finish undefeated.

She lives relatively close to the course, so I would think she's as good as anyone.

Why did that workout blow your mind and indicate that Baxter can't handle that? That seems like an ordinary workout for a low 10:xx 2-miler.

The workout was done on grass, so I suppose you could translate that to low 10 2-mile on grass. But on the track those splits would have been faster and would corespondingly translate to a faster 2-mile. She will run sub-10 this spring.

We've been waiting for quite awhile for Sarah to get under 10. Maybe she will finally do that this spring.

It will be an interesting race because Alexa has more leg speed. Sarah will have to push the pace to win.

Cranny (4:15.07) has a faster 1500m PR than Efraimson.

When are you guys going to learn that milers will not take down Sarah Baxter in a 5k? Would they beat her in the mile? Sure they both would, but not at NXN, not over 5k, not when it matters. Baxter has a different level of aerobic ability than anyone in HS (including Mary Cain), and will prove that again on Friday. Just because she makes it look effortless, does not mean she isn't flying.

BTW, Sarah Baxter will win the NCAA national title next year as well.

Alexa beat college-level runners in a 5k. She is more than a miler. The race will not be a slam dunk for Baxter. She will have to earn her victory.

Cranny beat a field of college-level runners at 6k (Rocky Mountain Shootout). She is more than a miler as well.

people say that workout is indicative of low 10 for 3200? really? that workout would be a killer for me and i am probably closer to 9:40 right now.

3min rest is a lot but doing this on grass seals the deal.

I too was absolutely convinced by this video. If this girl runs well, Sarah (or anyone else) will be powerless to stop her.

I don't think it's a good idea for Baxter to prove her aeroboc prowess the day before NXN.

Is it not true that Baxter has at least a 5 second PR for the year over either of them? Is she not the 2x defending champion, beating "prodigy" Mary Cain last year who had better speed than Cranny or Efraimson?
