Great run by Fiona. Is she an "American superstar"? Hmmmm....I'd like to see a few more good performances before we call her a "Superstar". Not throwing any shade on her, but I'd like to see her validate her performance. The only American marathon "Superstar" we have right now is Connor Mantz.

Yeah, I think she has to take a few top-tier scalps on the international stage (and not because the competition had an "off day") to be an American Superstar.

Superstar? Lol yeah right. Less than 100 people know of her. Stop over exaggerating.
She's not made a huge effort on self-promotion like some other top marathoners. Maybe that's not her jam. Echoing others that would love to see more from her, provided she can stay injury-free and healthy. Clearly it's her distance and she's the best one of the current bunch in the U.S.

Connor Mantz has never won a marathon that wasn’t rigged in his favor.
She ran well today but hard to overlook what she did in Paris as a fan of the sport.
Yes, hard to overlook somebody taking what might be the only opportunity of their lifetime to start an Olympic marathon. Jeez people on here are insane. Every single person would do the same
One of the highest appearance fees an American marathoner can make would be for a debut marathon. She ran the OT as her debut, opting out of that payday.
One of the largest bonus checks you make as an American marathoner is for making an Olympic team. ”Oklahoma” wants her to skip out on that payday.
Makes sense. She should just run for free. Who needs income after all?
She might not be a superstar yet, but I could definitely see her being one in the future. I really do hope she’s healthy and can stay healthy. I would hate for her to have the same sort of trajectory as Molly Seidel has, where you are in an injury cycle and have amazing performances between the injuries but it isn’t sustainable. She doesn’t seem to have the pure track speed to contend globally in fast races, but championship style races in hot or hilly conditions really seem to be her forte. Also very similar to Seidel.
