Useless question. There is no potential at question here. He is a 3:43 miler. That is his ability level.
Sorry but conversions to 1500 are the definition of POTENTIAL times. Any serious conversion must take into account the fact that he was given the perfect pace job for the full distance. Anything else wouldn't be serious.
I never said he was a 3:27 1500m runner. He is a 3:43 miler. No conversions necessary. No hypotheticals. He ran 3:43 for the mile. A time only 3 runners have bettered. An AR by almost three full seconds. Faster than Morceli, Cram, Coe, Ovett, Aouita, Lagat, Kiplagat, Kiprop, and many many more. Having another runner in the race does not discredit the time. It did not for Ngeny when he ran 3:43 and then became an Olympic champion the next year. The simple fact is that is that Nuguse ran 1 mile in 3 minutes, 43.97 seconds, and that is amazing.

Conversion has NOTHING to do with whether you had a pacer or not. And the mile to 1500 conversion is the most confirmed in the sport.
You are 0 for 2 but keep paddling.....
Sorry but Nuguse ran 1609m with perfect pacing, using that as a conversion for 1500m is only appropriate if we assume he will get 1500m of perfect pacing. This is really basic stuff. So

"I never...". You replied to my reply about conversions to the 1500 saying "useless comment". I point out the obvious, he had perfect pacing in this race which undoubtedly gained him plenty of time. I was replying to the conversion chart. Go back to bed with your lame "I never said", the conversion chart did, which is what I was replying to.
Nice guy, but imagine if a non-American had improved 11 seconds at 24.
Coevett you are the worst, like genuinely of all the people in the world you’re the worst one. You’re a racist sad sack of sh*t, a pathetic little neo nazi. Everyone sees through your facade you have nothing going on in your life so you insult lack runners.
Webb in FINAL FORM with super shoes would’ve destroy both of them.
based on what we've seen, the super shoes are not that impressive in the 1500-mile. the times that we see these days are not that far off from 10 years ago.
Unreal, a hearty congratulations to both men. I said maybe they would run in the 3:45.XX, but never would have guess 3:43.XX. Jakob getting closer and closer to being the GOAT. Annoying, but at least he’s starting to live up to his arrogance.
Great race and great YEAR by Nuguse. I had to post this race where he set the NCAA 1500 record all by himself because he knew an ACC preliminary race would be his best shot to hit the A Olympic 1500 standard. He did. He was a Junior, it was 2021 and he ran 3:34 and change. The broadcasters are clueless as to why he ran out by himself and won by 8 seconds. Remember this is his first year racing and training as a pro. He will be fitter and better next year and be having fun.
3:27.57 according to World Athletics points tables
3:28.75 PACE for an additional 109m
Yeah, ok, he's potentially a 3:27 runner with the best pace job of all time. What's more interesting to ask is, what can Nuguse actually run without JI pulling him like a Belgian draft horse the full distance?

Yared is VERY good at pushing without help
Two NCAA records solo
Two American records one solo towards the end
Anyone know what he went through 1500 in? or what he ran the last 1500 of the race in? He's the real deal. Kudos to Ritz as well.
