Jakob hasn't even begun to peak. When he peaks, you'll know it. He's going to peak all over the world and leave a couple of after drops for the LR board.
Its nothing wrong with being jewish, but its quite interesting seeing so many (american?) posters assuming Jakob is jewish because of his name. This might be how it is in the US, but you cant assume things like religious or economic background from names in Norway. There is about 4 times as many people named Jakob/Jacob in Norway than there are Jewish people (sadly their numbers tok a hit under WWII) - so realistically we should leave it to the person themselves if they want to identify as any religious or ethnic group.
There is little doubt that antidoping is largely ineffective now at the top of the sport.
You coudn't help posting it... even if that has nothing to do with Jakob peaking or not.
Everybody on let's run know your point of view. WE GOT IT. No need to endlessly repeat the same thing everyday everywhere.
The funny thing is that I agree with most of what you say, but you make it so annoying to agree with you that I want to believe some are clean.
Despite your denial, doping has everything to do with a top athlete "peaking". It's just that fans can't bear to acknowledge that. It also makes discussion of achievement today pointless because doping can't be separated from that achievement, just like drugs can't be separated from body-building, weightlifting and cycling - the sports that WADA has put in the same category as track for risk of doping.

This site is his life, period. New Zealand doesn't have anything much to offer, so he spends hours on a running forum spewing his slanted opinion day in and day out.
It only takes a few minutes for me to comment but I understand that composing sentences would be very laborious for most of you.
At this point, barring some catastrophic injury, Jakob is going to break the world record one day. He already has the indoor 1500 and 2 mile record, and getting this close will only motivate him more. The way he ran that 2 mile WR made a believer out of me. He is still young and just at the start of his peak years, there's no way he stops progressing now. I wouldn't be surprised if he peaked and ran a world record at the world championships. He's used to making finals absurdly fast by now. So why not?

He will also have the 800, 10k and marathon records. Everything is possible on Letsrun.
I actually llike this post because it is becoming a pretty funny joke. Everytime Jakob lowers his PB we need an immediate, post stating this will be the fastest time he will ever run.
It can become a long running joke! But I sure hope nobody takes it seriously because this guy is seriously good.

I agree; in my head it's reaching the level of jokes like Discus, ummm...ever heard of Jordan Hasay?, Banana bread's obsession with Bekele, and the 1,2,4 trees post

I actually would be a little surprised if he runs the world record at the world championships this year. 3:27.14 is super fast, but it's still over a second slower than the world record. At the rate he's been improving, the WR is certainly on the table for him, but if I had to bet I'd say he actually runs more like 3:28 even at Budapest for a solid victory and seriously chases/gets the WR in 2024.
