this was pretty much perfect. bekele may be able to run 2:02 flats, but he refuses to push the pace so he's left to rely on the pace and race that's made for him. you can't give him a 2:02 flat when he had the perfect opportunity to do it today. sure, the km splits were far from perfectly even, but without kipsang he doesn't break 2:04 today.

bekele is amazing

also, HUGE props to Kipsang for keeping his career going at THIS LEVEL (i.e. WORLD RECORD LEVEL) well into his 30's, and now how many big marathons?

Kipchoge all day. He ran a tick slower in London, definitely not the fast track of Berlin. Guy is on autopilot right now, surely has the WR in sight
