Fisher’s fitter than last year for sure. Unfortunate he got injured at the wrong time but he should feel encouraged that the work he put in the spring and all that cross training in the summer paid off.
He was absolutely in WR shape for both distances this weekend. Just a bummer the way the meet was scheduled etc he couldn't get either.
I said that if he even ran 3.44X then broke the WR in the 3000m in consecutive days it would be the greatest 2 days of athletic performance in the history of the sport. I think 3.43/7.23 on consecutive days might still qualify as that. Simply incredible.
The pacers were so bad that’s crazy. Jakob surely had the world record in him. 7:23 leading everything, with like a 53 last lap and pacers slowing him down the whole first half of the race. Imagine the pacers went through 2000m in 4:55 instead of not even the mile mark in a way too slow time.
It truly should be a rule if you are about to be lapped you have to move into lane 2. I’m sure Tsegay was too winded to say anything but surely she wanted to yell at Kelati to move..
Tsegay shouldn’t have to say anything in that situation. There should be meet officials ensuring lapped runners get out of the way.
Oh absolutely! I’m just saying I would have been extremely annoyed if I was her. It shouldn’t be on her to say anything though for sure
also, that was some stellar, amazing racing from jakob. perfectly forced his advantages. that .01 came down to him taking the rail. just so impressive.
Track and field is so entertaining. Being a Jakob fan is just so great. What a race today, what a race yesterday. What a quality it is on the runners Jakob is going head to head against.

Fisher has to be a medal favorite next year if he's healthy.
