The downside of Kipchoge's WR is stupid posters starting stupid threads like the OP did with this one.

To all you guys bichen about the shoe it wasnt a commercial Zfly 4%. It was very similar to the new one with the vaporfly elite sole. Im pretty sure the upper was the same as the commercial one tho. According to the IAAF rules this shoe is in virtue commercially availiable to evryone as it is releasing to the general public soon. The sole was simply fitted for kipchoges needs like all shoe companys do for thier athletes. This is a WR. There is a reason he didnt wear the flyprints.

It is more like marketing for the Zoom Fly and Pegasus.

At the Nike booth in Berlin they had a vaporfly model on display with a tpu upper. The guy working it said those were worn in the rain for the 2017 berlin race and are even lighter than the current model. He said there are 80 pairs of them in the world right now.

Adidas are already working on a 7% shoe which will hit the market in 2019 and an 8% shoe the year after.
