I apologize for getting the number wrong($50,000 vs $10,000), I was just going by the graphic on the TV and I must not have heard it correctly.

But, the point remains the same. These are pro athletes who rely on prize money for part of their income. It would not have been fair to the other competitors to have allowed Schippers to have "won" the money when she so blatantly false started.

Yet I can recall seeing Linford Christie disqualified for a false start at one major event - Olympics? I'm not sure. But th e rule should apply to everyone across the board.
