The blue line is actually 3 blue stripes, as in the Brand with The Three Stripes, a marketing gimmick for Adidas, one of the main sponsors of the Berlon marathon and nothing to do with the course measurement line.

No. The original spelling was latin. Curbus . Kerb is the usual extravagant Britishism.
We're lucky it only has one r in it although I think I've heard it pronounced curber.

Don't blame us Americans...that's the ENGLISH misspelling of the word...And English isn't even the most spoken language in the Americas.
Just watch the video. The lead bike goes over the curve. It's not really a raised curb; it's just a cobble stone portion of the road. The ribbons on the post mark the edge of the course. They did not cut the course, they just followed the shortest path within the course.

Just wondering why its so hard for people here to understand. The course is created that wide due to the fact that when the masses are running 20 - 30 abreast, they should be able to fit without a problem. Had they run behind the ribbon, that would have been a violation but they did not.
